Clay became the 21st rookie to throw a no-hitter, the third pitcher since 1900 to throw a no-hitter in his first or second major-league start and the First-Ever Red Sox Rookie to throw a no-hitter! Setting records and making history at age 23, Clay has accomplished a feat that Roger Clemens, Pedro Martinez and Curt Schilling never did in a Red Sox uniform. In the 7th inning, Dustin Pedroia made a magnificent stop at second base and gunned Miguel Tejada out at first.
